Right To Buy

Right to Buy allows council tenants to buy and own their home at a discount. Its enables either yourself, you and your partner or you and up to 3 household memebers whom have been living in the property to purchase the rights to the home.

However you will only be eligible for the right to buy your council home, if the home is your only and primary residence, you are a secure or flexible tenant and the council has not demoted your tenancy due to issues such anti-social behaviour or applied to court due to rent arrears.

Right to Acquire

In some cases, you may also be eligible to buy a registered provider property and own thier home at a discount. However there a strict criteria on what properties are eligible to buy. You will be required to be a qualifying tenant with either a secure, assured or assured shorthold with a duration over 2 years. The valustion, discount and formal offers are similar to the 'Right to Buy'
